Atmosphere Commercial Interiors has opened a new Worklab near downtown Madison, Wisconsin. The company describes the space as using Community-Based Design to foster a sense of community and support engagement, productivity, wellbeing, and belonging among workers.

Susan Enlow, Regional Vice President at Atmosphere Commercial Interiors, said the previous office layout was no longer effective for team communication and collaboration. “We envisioned a space that would break down physical barriers and open new possibilities for connection, creativity, and focus…where productivity could thrive.” The company worked with Potter Lawson on the design of the new office. The interiors include zones for focused work, collaboration, and rejuvenation. Community spaces such as a café and training room are now central features.

Carlene Wilson, CEO and President of Atmosphere Commercial Interiors, called the new Worklab a “strategic asset.” She stated: “We are no different than the customers we serve. Our business results and success are predicated upon deeply engaged and inspired team members.” Wilson added that the design process aimed to reflect “who we are and what we do,” and she described being “wowed” by the finished space. “It has a sophisticated, elevated vibe that highlights our energy and positivity.” She expects the Worklab will attract clients interested in how workspace design can impact culture.

Enlow credited several partners for their roles in developing the new location. CBRE assisted in finding suitable office space with amenities to help attract talent. Krupp General Contractors managed construction timelines and details. Potter Lawson designed an environment intended to make guests feel welcome from their first visit. Enlow said employee feedback has been positive: “Joy. And a renewed sense of purpose and passion.”

Instead of holding a large grand opening event, Atmosphere Commercial Interiors is offering personalized tours to organizations interested in learning about its approach to workplace design. “It’s an open invitation to any firm or organization interested in what we are learning about the changing landscape of work and how we applied it to our own space.”
