The University of Wisconsin–Madison is preparing for another season of Badger volleyball, as players and fans anticipate the start of competition. The university’s athletic programs continue to draw attention both on and off campus.

In medical research, UW–Madison has contributed to a clinical trial that enables transplant patients to live without daily anti-rejection medications. This advancement is allowing recipients to lead healthier lives post-transplant.
Efforts to address physician shortages in rural areas have also made progress at UW–Madison. Shane Hoffman will soon graduate as the first participant in an accelerated program from the UW School of Medicine and Public Health designed to shorten training time for doctors committed to serving rural communities.
