Rep. Bob Donovan, a Republican who began representing Wisconsin’s 61st House district in 2025, has used his social media platform to comment on law enforcement and public safety issues in Milwaukee.

On October 20, 2025, Donovan addressed the prevalence of reckless driving associated with police pursuits. He stated, “So far in 2025, 583 of the 778 police pursuits were associated with reckless driving—75% of all pursuits. By towing the vehicle, you take the weapon away from the criminal. I’m proud to author the legislation to do that and look forward to its implementation in Milwaukee.”

Later that day, he posted another message questioning certain services, asking “Can we suspend service permanently?” on October 20.

The following day, on October 21, Donovan commented on an incident involving an infant put at risk. He wrote, “I can’t imagine having such little disregard for human life to put an infant into harms way and then abandon them to save my own hide. How did we get here as a society?”

Donovan succeeded Amanda Nedweski as representative for Wisconsin’s 61st House district after his election in 2025.
