Parisi Construction will close the intersection of Brooks Street and Drake Street starting at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, August 4. The closure is scheduled to allow for asphalt replacement in the intersection. City officials expect the area to reopen by the end of Tuesday, August 5.

During this period, detours will be in place for drivers. Northbound traffic on Brooks Street will use Emerald Street, Mills Street, and Vilas Avenue as an alternate route. Southbound traffic will follow Vilas Avenue to Mills Street to Emerald Street. For eastbound travelers on Drake Street, detours include Mills Street to Vilas Avenue to Park Street or Mills Street to Emerald Street to Detour Street. Westbound traffic on Drake will be rerouted via Vilas Avenue, Mills Street, and back onto Drake.

Residents are advised to check the Metro Transit Detour page for any updates affecting Route O.

The paving project is part of improvements developed under the Safe Streets Madison program, which aims to enhance roadway safety across Madison.
