The City of Madison Arts Commission is set to unveil a new sculpture titled “Mother and Child” by Detroit-based artist Austen Brantley. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at 4:30 p.m.

This figurative bronze sculpture emphasizes the connection between mother and child. It will be installed at the end of the sidewalk segment in the public right-of-way next to 3002 Darbo Drive, near the base of the Starkweather Creek Pedestrian/Bike Path bridge.

Post-ceremony activities include joining Parks Alive at Worthington Park. Here, attendees can participate in arts programming and community activities, with music provided by Madison funk band Rare Element.
