City of Monona releases results of April 7 spring election

The City of Monona released the results for its spring election held on April 7, according to an announcement on Apr. 8.

The election included races for judicial positions, municipal offices, and school board seats. Voter turnout was reported at 60.14 percent with a total of 3,627 ballots cast out of 6,031 registered voters.

In the race for Justice of the Supreme Court, Chris Taylor received a total of 3,184 votes while Maria S. Lazar received 425 votes. For Alderperson positions in the city council, Teresa Radermacher led with a combined total of 2,330 votes from both polling locations. Patrick M. DePula and Brian Holmquist followed with totals of 2,038 and 2,098 votes respectively.

For Circuit Court Judge Branches and other judicial offices: Rachel A. Graham won Court of Appeals Judge District 4 with a total vote count of 2,434; Stephanie Hilton secured Circuit Court Judge Branch 8 with a combined tally of 2,421 votes.

School board races saw Rachelle Miller leading in Monona Grove School District Board Member voting with a total count of 1,767 ballots cast in her favor; Nicole Schoenbeck-Claas and Elizabeth Cook also received significant support at their respective tallies.

There were no provisional ballots issued during this election cycle and new or updated registrations totaled to147 across both polling sites on Election Day as confirmed by Christina Kahl, City Clerk for the City of Monona.
