The City of Monona announced on Apr. 16 that the next Eco-Action Tuesdays event will take place on April 28 at the Monona Public Library, featuring a presentation by Rachael Maysels, Executive Director of Fairshare CSA Coalition.

The event aims to address challenges in large-scale food production and promote resilient, local food systems. Organizers say this topic is especially relevant as energy costs, petro-chemical fertilizer prices, and temperatures continue to rise.

Maysels will discuss how Fairshare CSA Coalition works to connect organic Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farmers with consumers in order to strengthen local food networks. “Their organization strives to create resilient, local food communities by bringing together organic CSA farmers and consumers,” the announcement said.

Adults and teens are invited to attend the session. Free refreshments will be provided and attendees can participate in a door prize drawing. The program is sponsored by MGE.

The event will be held at the Monona Public Library located at 5211 Schluter Road. For more information, residents may contact the City of Monona at 608-222-2525.
