Kraus-Anderson has completed a significant renovation of The University Book Store in Madison, Wisconsin. Located at 711 State Street, the bookstore has been an integral part of the community since 1894 and is celebrating its 130th anniversary this year.

The remodel, which cost $2.3 million, also included updates to the offices of the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Marketing & Communications Department. The project was designed by Potter Larson and covered an area of 9,400 square feet.

The renovation involved demolishing existing spaces and adding new furniture, interior walls, fixtures glazing, millwork, flooring, and paint. Additionally, upgrades were made to mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and fire protection systems through a design-build approach.
