The Madison College Continuing Education program will hold its annual Student and Faculty Art Show from August 18 to September 12 at the Truax Art Gallery, located near the main entrance of the Truax campus at 1701 Wright St. The event highlights the creative work of non-credit art students and instructors.

A free reception for the exhibit is scheduled for Saturday, August 16, from 4-6 p.m. Over 50 artists will present their work, including paintings, ceramics, drawings, sculptures, and mixed media pieces. The opening reception will feature a live art demonstration as well as hors d’oeuvres and wine tasting.

According to organizers, “The show reflects the talent and dedication of Madison College’s Continuing Education art class students. It’s an excellent opportunity to explore the possibilities of community-based art education and learn how to get involved.”

The Gallery at Truax hosts exhibits for the community throughout the year. Those interested in learning more about non-credit art classes offered by Madison College can browse current options on the institution’s Continuing Education web page. Courses are available in areas such as watercolor, ceramics, fashion illustration, printmaking and do not require prior experience.

The exhibit will be open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., August 18 through September 12. Visitors may use either student or visitor parking lots at the campus.

For further details about the exhibit or classes, information is available on both the Gallery at Truax webpage and Madison College Continuing Education web page.
