Madison College to host Skilled Trades Showcase in Portage on September 24

The Skilled Trades Showcase will take place on Wednesday, September 24, at Madison College’s Advanced Manufacturing Center in the Portage Enterprise Center. The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Attendees can participate in tours of the Enterprise Center and observe demonstrations in welding, diesel mechanics, and other skilled trades. Instructors and advisors from Madison College will be present to provide information about more than 15 programs and assist with the application process.

Local employers from manufacturing and trade industries in Columbia, Marquette, and Sauk counties are expected to attend the job fair component of the event. These employers are seeking qualified candidates for various positions.

Admission and lunch at the event are free for all participants.

The showcase is organized through a partnership between Madison College, the Department of Workforce Development, CESA 5, and the City of Portage.
