Teams of local business and government leaders are set to conduct a walking tour in the Southeast and Southwest areas of Madison on Tuesday, June 3rd, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. This initiative aims to gather feedback from the business community as part of ongoing plans by the City of Madison.

The City is currently working on three major plans: the Planning Division’s Southeast and Southwest Area Plans and the Economic Development Division’s Economic Development Strategy. The purpose of these face-to-face visits is to strengthen relationships between businesses and local officials, providing a direct communication channel for business owners to express their needs and goals.

Throughout the three-hour event, teams comprising city leaders and small business advocates will visit up to 300 businesses in the targeted areas. They will collect responses from business owners and managers on various topics such as improvements needed for local businesses, their positive experiences operating in Madison, and current challenges faced by their enterprises.

The gathered responses will be compiled into an accessible report intended for use by city decision-makers. This report aims to support efforts in enhancing the local business environment and identifying growth opportunities.

The event is organized by Blueprint Events, a company based in Madison.
