Modou (Mola) Lamin Badjie has been selected as a 2026 Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) Student Ambassador, according to an April 24 announcement from Madison Area Technical College.
The recognition highlights the achievements of students who show leadership and dedication in their academic and professional pursuits. Each year, one student from each of Wisconsin’s 16 technical colleges is chosen to represent WTCS and its students across the state.
Badjie is currently pursuing an Associate of Science Degree in Science, Math and Technology at Madison Area Technical College through the University Transfer Program. He plans to continue his education with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and eventually a master’s degree in physical therapy. In addition to his studies, Badjie serves as President of Madison College’s chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. He said, “Madison College stood out as a place where I feel supported, valued and prepared to grow academically and professionally while planning confidently for my future.”
During a ceremony honoring new ambassadors last week, WTCS President Layla Merrifield addressed the group by saying, “Your presence here is a testament to your hard work, commitment and genuine desire to lead within your chosen fields. You earned your place by demonstrating exceptional character, dedication and initiative.”
