The start date for the Nakoma Road project has been delayed by one week and is now set to begin on Wednesday, August 27. The delay is due to the need for water main protection and recent weather conditions.

During construction, Nakoma Road will be fully closed to traffic from Tumalo Trail to Manitou Way. In addition, Cherokee Drive will also be completely closed at its intersection with Nakoma Road. Bus routes and local traffic will be redirected via Manitou Way in both directions. More information about bus detours can be found on the Metro Transit website.

Most other traffic is expected to use the main detour route along Midvale Boulevard and Odana Road. Further details and background about the project are available on the Engineering Department’s Nakoma Road Project page.
