The City of Madison has unveiled a new public art installation by artist Michael Ford at the Village on Park. The mural, named “Colorful Characters,” is positioned on the corner of the parking structure near the Urban League’s Black Business Hub.

Ford’s creation uses the letters in “South Madison” to form vibrant shapes, integrating photographs of past South Madison leaders into a four-story mural. This project represents the first completed under Madison’s Percent for Art ordinance.
