Middleton High School had nineteen students qualify for the 2026 Wisconsin School Music Association (WSMA) High School State Honors Project, according to an April 27 announcement. The group includes students in grades nine through eleven from the school’s band, choral, and orchestra programs.
This recognition highlights the participation of Middleton High School in a program considered one of the top musical opportunities for young people at the state level. Students auditioned before a panel of adjudicators in February and those selected will attend a four-day summer camp at the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay campus. They will also perform at the Overture Center in Madison during the last week of October as part of the Wisconsin State Music Conference.
The students who qualified this year are Dina Abdel-Megid (voice), Olive Ballard (voice), William Battaglia (trombone), Ethan Bregman (oboe), Fritz Bush (trumpet), Diya Chilukuri (violin), Madison DeRidder (flute), Vivan Feng (violin), Peter Francois (violin), Pierson Frank (euphonium), Isaac Freiburg (voice), Benjamin Gordon (horn), Maren Kuhn (bass clarinet), Hailey Marshall (viola), Ilyaas Razvi (tuba), Selah Streets (voice), Audrey VanBendegom (trumpet), Charlie Vanderbloemen (horn) and Mateo Vazquez (bass clarinet).
