Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce announced on Apr. 22 that nominations are now open for its annual Wisconsin Business Friend of the Environment Awards Program. The announcement coincides with Earth Day and highlights efforts to recognize companies in the state for their environmental practices.
The awards aim to showcase how businesses in Wisconsin can balance economic success with responsible environmental stewardship. The program is sponsored by WM and seeks to demonstrate to policymakers and the public that local companies are leading in areas such as energy efficiency, waste reduction, resource conservation, and sustainable product development.
“Wisconsin businesses understand the inherent value of responsible environmental practices,” said Adam Jordahl, WMC’s Director of Environmental & Energy Policy. “WMC is proud to recognize companies that are making a meaningful difference for their communities, their employees, and the state.” Jordahl also said, “For nearly four decades, this program has shown how business leaders have gone above and beyond industry standards or regulatory requirements. Nominations are open to all private companies from any industry with headquarters or significant operations in Wisconsin that have made notable improvements in sustainability or innovation during 2025. Applications must be submitted by June 12, 2026. Winners will be chosen by a panel including representatives from business, government, and environmental nonprofits.
