SUN PRAIRIE SOCCER CLUB: Message from President: A New Season Begins

Newseason

Sun Prairie Soccer Club issued the following announcement on Sep 7

Dear Sun Prairie Soccer Families-

I hope all of you had a safe, enjoyable holiday weekend. With the cooler weather, SP schools starting and soccer training back it definitely feels like Fall.

A few important updates for you this week...

Today is the last day for you to let us know if you are planning to participate in friendly games, training only or passing on Fall soccer. If you haven't already, please let your Coach and our Executive Director, Tony Markell know your decision by the end of the day today.

Just a reminder, after today there will be no refunds for the Fall session if you decide not to play.

We are now a couple of weeks into training under the new COVID guidelines. I have visited a number of training sessions and overall, I think the vast majority of our Coaches are doing an excellent job following guidelines and the kids seem to be adapting as well.

However, I cannot always be at all training sessions. I need your help. All parents, players and Coaches, let us know if you see any conditions that you feel are unsafe. We will look into every situation and do what we can to provide a remedy. You can email me at kent.disch@sunprairiesoccer.com or Tony Markell at tony.markell@sunprairiesoccer.com. All safety related emails are strictly confidential and we will not share any identifying information.

On to the games...some of our WYSA league teams have games starting this weekend. Please contact your Coach to make sure you are up-to-date on the game locations and COVID rules for watching games. There are now limits on how many spectators can attend, where they can watch and how they interact with participants. Let's make sure SPSC families are setting the standard for good sportsmanship and safety.

Finally, SPSC has a limited stock of Club branded face masks and gaiter-style face coverings for sale. All proceeds go to support our SPSC Scholarship Program. You can email Tony at tony.markell@sunprairiesoccer.com for information. Checks should be written to SPSC.

As always, a huge thank you to all of you for your continued support!

Stay safe, informed and healthy!

Kent Disch
