Madison's upcoming conference on Latinx art and culture will be held virtually and is free to attend, Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway tweeted.
"Mark your calendar for Oct. 15 and the first annual Wisconsin Conference on Latinx art and culture," the mayor said.
You can register for the event here.
The conference will highlight artists who are from Wisconsin or have "significant experience" in the state, according to the event's website.
"We will have two keynotes and 10 interactive breakout sessions with artists," it said. "You have access to all sessions with your ticket. There will be live Q&A so bring your questions!"
Tickets are free and donations are suggested and can be made here.
The event will be held from 8:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. CDT.
The conference is sponsored by LOUD (Latinos Organizing for Understanding and Development).
"All of the speakers are working artists who have maintained their connection and commitment to the community," the group said. "You are welcome to attend one, some, or as many of the presentations as you wish. Your virtual ticket will give you access to all presentations. The day closes with another keynote, followed by open discussion and networking."
The keynote speaker is Zarco Guerrero, an "engaging and creative; a performer and artist; a community activist and internationally known creator in the service of social change," the website said. "Zarco’s art helps to create positive social change. Zarco is internationally known for his music, poetry and theatre."
