DeForest Windsor Area Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on April 28.
To wrap up the schoolwide WE Run prizes for this school year, on Tuesday, April 26 principal Valerie Crowl and assistant principal Bill Huebsch bundled up and slept on the roof of Windsor Elementary. The WES community came out to hear a bedtime story, and have milk and cookies with Valerie and Bill before they said ‘goodnight’ and headed into their tents.
The WE Run committee also raffled off a birthday package and passes from Urban Air, and Kwik Trip gift cards.
The WE Run is the only fundraiser for Windsor Elementary School and funds are used to: purchase books for every student for the summer to help prevent the ‘summer slide’, enhance technology in the classrooms, alleviate costs of field trips, assist teachers with classroom needs, and many other things.
