The University of Wisconsin–Madison is gearing up to celebrate its 175th Anniversary with a Community Open House on April 5-7. Charles Hoslet, vice chancellor for university relations and chair of the 175th Anniversary Steering Committee, expressed the university's enthusiasm, stating, "We're proud of the legacy of innovation here at UW–Madison — in research, the arts, athletics and more."

One of the highlights of the event is the opportunity for visitors to explore various parts of the campus that are not typically open to the general public. From the Babcock Dairy Observation Deck Tours to the Geology Museum Open House, there are a plethora of activities to engage in.

At the Babcock Dairy Observation Deck, visitors can witness firsthand the milk processing, ice cream churning, and cheesemaking processes. Charles Hoslet encourages attendees to "see examples of how an idea can change the world, and meet the amazing people who make this happen."

For those interested in astronomy, the Washburn Observatory offers open house and public nights to observe the night sky through its 143-year-old telescope. The Atmospheric, Oceanic and Space Sciences Building also welcomes visitors to explore real-time satellite imagery and interact with weather prediction scientists.

Art enthusiasts can witness the intricate craft of metalsmithing at the hour-long demonstrations in the Humanities Building. Meanwhile, families can enjoy the Wisconsin Athletics Family Fun Fair at the historic Field House, which has seen many Badger victories over the years.

Other attractions include the Bakke Recreation & Wellness Center, UW–Madison's trademark rides at UW–Madison in Motion, and the Geology Museum Open House where visitors can touch ancient rocks and marvel at the Vienna Meteorite.

With a diverse range of activities and sights to see, the UW's 175th Anniversary Community Open House promises an enriching and memorable experience for all attendees.
