Madison Arts Commission opens applications for 2025 grant program

The Madison Arts Commission (MAC) is currently accepting applications for its 2025 arts grants. The program aims to support cultural initiatives and artistic activities that highlight the importance of arts and culture in Madison. Eligible projects should foster an inclusive, equitable, and welcoming environment while meeting at least one of several specified goals.

These goals include engaging residents in arts and cultural activities, expanding an artist's community presence, offering creative process participation opportunities, providing arts activities for PK-12 students during or after school hours, reaching diverse or underserved communities, and celebrating identity or local groups.

Applications for the 2025-2026 grants must be submitted by March 1, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. Three types of grants are available:

Project Grants offer up to $5,000 for programs such as arts education initiatives, performances, exhibitions, workshops, or events that enhance Madison's cultural life.

Legacy Grants provide $1,500 to organizations that have received MAC funding three out of the last six years to help maintain their successful programming.

Individual Fellowships award up to $2,000 to artists seeking to advance their practice and share their work with the community.

For those considering applying or needing assistance with the application process, MAC volunteers are available for 15-minute one-on-one sessions upon request. Interested parties can email madisonarts@cityofmadison.com for inquiries or support.

Additionally, individuals can subscribe to the Madison Arts Newsletter for updates on grants and other opportunities.
