Madison College-Reedsburg is set to host the annual Celebrate a Nurse 5K and 1-mile walk/run on Saturday, May 3. The event aims to support nursing students at the Madison College Reedsburg campus by raising funds for their training. This event also marks the beginning of National Nurses Week, which runs from May 6-12.

Participants can sign up individually or as groups and will receive a commemorative T-shirt and post-race snacks. Awards will be given to the first three runners in each age group (male and female) who finish the 5K. Additionally, there will be an award for the most creative team costume. The race is accessible to families, children, dogs, strollers, and wheelchairs.

For those unable to attend in person, a virtual 5K option is available this year. Virtual participants can submit their times online but only in-person participants are eligible for awards.

The event has been popular since its launch in 2022 with strong support from the Reedsburg community. Each semester a scholarship is awarded to a nursing student thanks to this initiative.

The Celebrate a Nurse event promises exercise while supporting future generations of nurses. Registration costs $30 for community members and Madison College employees, while students and alumni pay $25. To receive a commemorative T-shirt, registration must be completed by April 15.

Join in honoring nurses by participating in the Madison College-Reedsburg Celebrate a Nurse 5K on May 3 at Madison College Reedsburg located at 300 Alexander Ave., Reedsburg, Wisconsin.
