Madison College students excelled at the 2025 National Professional Agriculture Student Contest in Sheridan, Wyoming, securing top honors in March. The students claimed first, fourth, and tenth places at the competition.
The first-place team consisted of Nick Hoffmann and Charlie Lembke. Josh Lalor and Nick Drissel placed fourth, while Emily Vick and Lydia Meinholz finished in tenth place. Individually, Nick Hoffmann attained the highest score and was named the top individual competitor, with Charlie Lembke securing second place.
The competition saw attendance from 14 teams originating from Wisconsin, Montana, Iowa, Minnesota, and Washington. These teams were challenged with seven diagnostic stations containing John Deere and Bobcat machinery. Participants had 20 minutes to diagnose issues and answer related questions. The stations were focused on electrical, hydraulic, electronic, and machine setup diagnostics. Competitors also faced a 150-question written test, precision measuring tasks, and parts identification.
The PAS program is an opportunity for students to engage in employment experience programs, hands-on skill development, and organizational activities. "The National PAS Competition is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that incoming students look forward to each year," said Nick Lindloff, Director of the Madison College Agricultural Equipment Program.
