Wright Middle School held its annual Career & Resource Fair, offering eighth-grade students a chance to explore potential career paths and connect with local organizations. The event was led by school counselor Sara Knutson and featured Wright alumni who returned to share their career journeys in various trades, professions, and entrepreneurial ventures, giving students insight into the diverse opportunities available.

Some of the high-demand fields represented by the alumni speakers included criminal justice, electrician work, landscaping, cosmetology, and trucking and freight management.

Alongside the alumni speakers, a resource fair allowed students to interact with representatives from community organizations and educational institutions. Participating organizations included the Boys & Girls Clubs of Dane County, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, and Overture Center for the Arts, which provided information on summer programs, academic opportunities, and career pathways. Other participants were IBEW Local 159, Jackson's Yard Care, Dane County Humane Society's Wildlife Center, and Simpson Street Free Press.

Wright Middle School aims to empower its students by connecting them with professionals and community resources, encouraging them to explore interests, gain workforce knowledge, and make informed decisions about their future goals.
