On April 3, 2025, Provost Charles Isbell, Jr. and Lauren Papp, associate dean for research in the School of Human Ecology, reached out to the UW–Madison community. They invited students, faculty, and staff to participate in the UW–Madison Strategic Visioning feedback survey. The survey aims to gather insights to guide the Visioning Committee’s recommendations for the university's forthcoming strategic framework.
Participation in this survey is expected to take between 15 to 30 minutes. Respondents can pause and resume the survey as needed. It is available in multiple languages, including English, Spanish, Hmong, Tibetan, Chinese, and Nepali. Confidentiality of answers is assured by the UW Survey Center, which handles the survey administration.
The Visioning Committee, composed of 31 participants, was established by Chancellor Mnookin. The committee's goal is to create initial concepts and recommendations for UW–Madison’s strategic planning, addressing the ongoing challenges in higher education. Feedback from the campus community is considered vital in this process. "We highly value your feedback on the initial concepts the committee has created over the past few months," Isbell and Papp emphasized in their message.
Survey analysis is scheduled for spring 2025, after which results will be communicated to UW–Madison leadership. Those interested in further details about the Visioning Committee's work can visit strategicvision.wisc.edu. For technical queries, Jaime Faus, UW Survey Center Senior Project Director, can be contacted at jfaus@ssc.wisc.edu.
Isbell and Papp concluded with gratitude for the community's assistance and continued dedication to UW–Madison. "Thank you for your participation and continued dedication to UW–Madison," they stated.
