Jamie Sims has been appointed as Associate Principal for Teaching and Learning at Middleton High School. His new role will begin on July 1, 2025. Previously the school's Athletic Director, Sims has been recognized for his contributions since joining the Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District (MCPASD) in 2020. Under his guidance, Middleton High School achieved 14 state championships and 38 conference championships.
Before his time with MCPASD, Sims served as the principal of Black Hawk Middle School in the Madison Metropolitan School District and was an adjunct instructor at Edgewood College, where he taught educational leadership.
Sims began his career in education in Georgia. There he worked as a teacher, coach, mentor, and bus driver at different institutions, including Madison County High School and Hull Sanford Elementary School. He has contributed to the development of student athletes in roles such as Head Track and Field Coach and Strength and Conditioning Coordinator.
Current Associate Principal for Teaching and Learning, Bobbie Reinhart, expressed enthusiasm about Sims' appointment: "We're excited to welcome Jamie to the principal team. Jamie has made strong contributions as our Athletic Director, and we are confident that he’ll be a valuable addition to our leadership team. His commitment to our students, staff, and the broader Middleton High School community is clear, and we’re thrilled to have him bring that same energy and perspective to this new role."
Sims' new appointment corresponds with Reinhart transitioning to the principal position at Middleton High School. Sims holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of West Georgia and a master’s in educational leadership from Edgewood College, where he is currently pursuing his doctorate.
Besides his educational roles, Sims is actively involved in the community, serving on the Board of Directors for 100 Black Men of Madison. According to MCPASD, they anticipate that Sims' leadership and dedication will positively impact the Middleton High School community and beyond.
