Families gathered at Sauk Trail Elementary School for the annual STEAM Night, a well-established event in the school community. Approximately 450 people attended this year, highlighting a strong interest in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics education.

The event began with a pizza dinner between 5:00 and 5:30 PM, and was followed by a demonstration by the UW Wonders of Physics team. Attendees explored more than 25 different STEAM activities located in the cafeteria and gymnasium. Sauk Trail staff, student teachers, and community volunteers facilitated these activities.

Rebecca Saeman, a Math Specialist and Reading Teacher at Sauk Trail Elementary, expressed, "This is a special night for families because, unlike other events where we ask parents to volunteer, this event is designed for parents to also engage with and enjoy alongside their kids."

The event featured interactive stations allowing parents and children to learn collaboratively. Activities ranged from robotics demonstrations to art projects that included mathematical concepts, illustrating the practical and creative applications of STEAM subjects.

The evening ended with another demonstration from the UW Wonders of Physics team, leaving families motivated to learn. School administrators reported that the event grows in anticipation and attendance each year.
