The annual Run Madtown race will lead to multiple street closures in Madison over the weekend of May 24th and 25th. On Saturday, May 24th, the Twilight 5K will commence at 7 p.m., starting and ending on the 700 block of State Street. The route will loop through the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus, with an anticipated conclusion time of 8:30 p.m.
On Sunday, May 25th, both the 10K and half marathon races are scheduled to start at 7 a.m., also beginning and concluding on the same block of State Street. The routes for these races include key locations such as Capitol Square, the arboretum, and again pass through the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus. These events are expected to wrap up by 11 a.m.
Travel lanes closed for these races will reopen once the last runner has passed through each area. Additionally, some Madison Metro routes will be affected during this period; more information regarding Metro Transit detours can be found online.
