Senator Bradley's proposed legislation to enhance Wisconsin's film industry is gaining momentum. The bill aims to attract investment, jobs, and tourism dollars to the state by offering tax credits for film productions. These credits would be issued only after productions have documented their expenditures, ensuring fiscal responsibility and local economic benefit.

Senator Bradley stated, “This bill is about bringing investment, jobs, and tourism dollars here to Wisconsin. We can’t let Wisconsin be left behind as nearby states successfully leverage incentives to attract substantial investments.”

Currently, Wisconsin lacks a film office or commission and is one of ten states that do not offer film production incentives. The proposed bill seeks to address this gap and help the state compete with neighboring regions that are successfully attracting film industry investments.

The bill is now pending a vote in committee.
