Andrew Pouchnik, owner of Ironwood Builders in Waukesha, has been recognized with the Forward28 Award by Senator Julian Bradley. This award is given to individuals who have made significant local contributions.

In January, Pouchnik witnessed a police officer being attacked and intervened to help restrain the suspect until additional officers arrived. The suspect involved faces several charges, including battery to a law enforcement officer and felony bail jumping.

Senator Bradley remarked on Pouchnik's actions, stating, “Andrew saw a dangerous situation and stepped in to help anyway. He wasn’t trying to be a hero, but his act was heroic nonetheless – that’s why he’s earned the Forward28 Award.”

Pouchnik also received the Waukesha Police Department’s Citizen Service Award for his bravery. This award is the highest honor given by the department for civilian acts of courage.
