Nakoma Road will be restricted to inbound traffic starting Monday, June 30, due to sidewalk construction on the outbound side. The road is expected to reopen in mid-September.

The project aims to install a sidewalk on the south side of Nakoma Road, addressing a gap in the pedestrian network. This involves extending the curb and removing most parking spots on that side. While no sanitary or water work is planned, storm sewer work will be required.

Manitou Way will also close for sanitary work related to the Nakoma sidewalk project.

Key details include:

- Metro buses will detour to Cherokee Drive during Phase 1.

- A box culvert replacement across Nakoma Road and Cherokee Drive is scheduled for later this summer, which will alter traffic control.

- Traffic control changes and additional phases are anticipated.

- Nakoma is estimated to reopen mid-September.
