There were 4,246 students enrolled in De Forest Area School District in the 2024-25 school year, 2.2% more than the previous year, according to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2024-25 school year, 50.9% identified themselves as boys, 49.1% as girls.

Data also shows that most of the students were white, accounting for 79.5% of the De Forest Area School District total enrollment.

De Forest Area School District covers seven schools within Dane County, with its main office in DeForest.

Among the seven schools in the district, De Forest High School recorded the highest enrollment of 1,137 students in the 2024-25 school year.

Wisconsin had a student-to-teacher ratio of 14-to-1 in 2025, lower than the national average of 16-to-1, according to Public School Review.
