Celebrate National Park and Recreation Month this July with Madison School & Community Recreation (MSCR) and Madison Parks. The theme, “Build Together, Play Together," highlights the importance of parks and recreation in fostering strong communities.

Madison Parks and MSCR will offer free community events throughout July. One such event is the Adapted Family Swims at Goodman Pool on July 11, August 1, and August 16. These swims are designed for individuals with disabilities, their caregivers, and families. Auggie Brenzel from MSCR said it is an event where "anyone with a disability can feel comfortable and welcome in the water."

Additionally, the Friends of MSCR invite you to participate in the 21st Annual Fore Friends Golf Outing on July 23 at The Oaks Golf Course. This event supports public recreation programs in Madison. Since its inception in 2003, over $640,000 has been raised to fund various programs.

Participants can register for a foursome which includes 18 holes of golf, a cart, lunch, and a golfer gift. Sponsorship opportunities are available for those interested in supporting the event further.

For more information about sponsorships or contributions, contact Martha at mlhutchinson@madison.k12.wi.us or call 608-204-3045 by May 23, 2025.

Friends of MSCR is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing financial support to MSCR programs since its founding in 1926.
