The City of Madison has announced a series of street closures and parking restrictions in anticipation of the Coldplay concert at Camp Randall Stadium on Saturday, July 19. These measures aim to enhance pedestrian safety and manage event logistics effectively.
Several streets will be affected by these changes. N Randall Avenue remains closed between Engineering Drive and W Dayton Street due to ongoing utility construction. N Breese Terrace will be closed daily starting Monday, July 14, for concert setup. Southbound traffic will temporarily be allowed between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. each weekday for the afternoon commute. On Saturday, July 19, N Breese Terrace will be fully closed between Regent Street and University Avenue until 6:00 p.m. Monday, July 21.
Monroe Street is set to close between Regent Street and Randall Avenue starting at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 19, remaining closed until approximately 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 20.
Regent Street will experience closures between Spooner Street and Randall Avenue for about one hour following each concert (from 11:00 p.m. to midnight) to ensure pedestrian safety during this time frame.
During these closures, Madison Police will direct traffic eastbound on Regent Street toward Park Street.
Temporary on-street parking restrictions similar to those during typical UW home football games will apply on Regent Street and Monroe Street for concert exit traffic.
A rideshare loading zone is designated on N Charter Street from Regent Street to Dayton Street.
Residents, concertgoers, and motorists are encouraged to plan accordingly and allow extra travel time while considering alternate routes during closure periods.
Further information about navigating these changes can be found by visiting the UW Madison page related to this event.
