Madison College has announced a new articulation agreement with the University of Wisconsin–Stout. This initiative will allow hospitality management students to advance their education and earn a Bachelor of Science in Hotel, Restaurant & Tourism Management (HRTM).
The agreement guarantees admission for students who complete their Associate of Applied Science in Hospitality Management at Madison College into UW-Stout’s HRTM program. These students will enter as juniors, receiving at least 61 credits, leaving 59 credits to complete their bachelor's degree.
Dr. Lynea LaVoy, Program Director and Department Chair of Hospitality Management, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership. "This is a major win for our students," LaVoy stated. "We are grateful to everyone who helped bring this agreement to life. It affirms the strength and value of our hospitality management degree while providing students with the opportunity to continue their education at a respected UW institution."
This collaboration adds to an expanding list of transfer partnerships aimed at offering students pathways to pursue bachelor's degrees.
In addition to academic opportunities, Madison College hospitality management students gain practical experience through internships with organizations such as the Disney College Program, local hotels and restaurants, tourism boards, and national brands. The program's advisory board supports these partnerships with industry professionals ensuring that graduates leave with both a degree and valuable career connections.
