In a recent development for local EMT students, Madison College has started administering the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) exams at its Watertown campus. This new testing site provides easier access for EMT program students, enabling them to take their EMT, advanced EMT, and paramedic exams in a familiar setting. Previously, students had to travel to Pearson Vue Professional Centers, often dealing with long wait times and additional travel requirements to reach locations in Madison or beyond.
Discussions with NREMT leadership have resulted in an agreement allowing the Watertown testing center to conduct these essential exams. "This change is a significant win for our students, particularly given the high demand for our EMT classes," said Madison College Dean of Regional Campuses Shawna Marquardt. "By offering this exam conveniently on our campus, we not only ease the burden on our students but also establish Watertown as an official National Registry EMT testing location, benefiting a broader community."
Since finalizing the agreement in late June, Madison College Watertown has successfully administered the exam to several EMT program completers.
