Rep. Bob Donovan, a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly representing the 61st Assembly District, recently shared results and opinions from his constituents via social media posts.
On July 24, 2025, Donovan stated: "The results are in from the 2025 Spring Survey. First and foremost, law enforcement should work with their federal partners to always ensure the safety of the public. It is clear that violent criminals should be taken off our streets and the majority of constituents agree."
The following day, on July 25, 2025, he addressed legislative language changes: "People want government to improve their lives and protect them with tangible results. Unnecessarily changing state statute to erase 'mother' is just a nonstarter. Luckily, constituents of of the 61st Assembly District overwhelmingly agreed."
Later that same day, Donovan questioned law enforcement actions regarding traffic incidents: "How does running over pedestrians not get you arrested? What message does that send to ordinary law abiding citizens?"
Donovan has previously emphasized public safety as a core concern for his district’s residents. The role of local and federal partnerships in law enforcement is often highlighted by Wisconsin lawmakers seeking solutions to violent crime.
He also referenced recent debates over legislative terminology in state statutes—a topic that has prompted discussion in other states as well—arguing against removing gendered terms such as "mother."
Public responses collected through constituent surveys play a significant role in shaping Donovan's positions on these issues.
