The Madison College Gateway to College Program has received the Program Excellence Award at the Achieving the Dream K-College Institute held in Denver last month.

The program is designed for students aged 16 to 21 who have dropped out of high school or are at risk of doing so. It allows these students to earn a high school diploma and college credits while attending classes on a college campus. According to Madison College, participants often see improvements in attendance, grade point averages, and their chances of enrolling in college.

In May 2025, the Gateway graduating class consisted of 22 students who collectively earned more than 360 college credits. Of these graduates, 82% are continuing with post-secondary education, and over half—56%—are remaining at Madison College.

This marks the fourth time that the Gateway to College Program has been recognized with this national award.

"Madison College partners with Achieving the Dream in a combined mission to ensure all students can access learning that propels them into rewarding careers. Gateway to College strives to support and empower young people every day, serving as a standard for educators nationwide," according to Madison College.

For further information about the program, interested individuals can contact Madison College by phone or email.
