Middleton High School has been ranked as the top high school in the Madison Metro Area and the 14th best in Wisconsin, according to the 2025-2026 U.S. News & World Report’s Best High Schools rankings.
“Earning national recognition reflects the dedication and commitment of our teachers, staff, students, and families,” said Middleton High School Principal Bobbie Reinhart. “We’re proud of our strong academic foundation and our exceptional programming in arts, athletics, and career and technical education. This recognition proves that we’re on the right path as we work to continue our school’s tradition of excellence.”
The Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District (MCPASD) has also received recognition from Niche for five years in a row as one of Wisconsin’s highest-rated school districts. This rating highlights the district’s ongoing focus on academic quality, support for students, and building community relationships.
Earlier this year, MCPASD became the first school district to receive a Wisconsin State Journal Top Workplaces Award for 2025. This award points to MCPASD’s standing as an employer within the state.
“It’s especially inspiring to receive the U.S. News & World Report honor as we start the new school year and prepare to welcome students for another year of growth and development,” added Reinhart. “We’re excited for the year ahead and look forward to maintaining a school environment where everyone feels empowered to grow into the best version of themselves.”
