Metro Transit is offering a half-price Youth Fast Fare program for eligible young riders as the school year begins. The program targets youth between ages 5 and 17, or those still in high school, and allows them to pay as they go instead of buying a full pass up front.

To participate, students need to create an account online, pick up a Metro Fast Fare card, and register to receive the youth discount. Cards can be obtained at the Metro Transit Administration Office at 1245 E. Washington Ave., any Madison Public Library branch, or by requesting one via email at mymetrobus@cityofmadison.com.

Account setup can be completed on the Metro Transit website at MyMetroBus.com/OnlineAccount with a valid email address. There is also an option to use the Metro Transit Fast Fares app available through MyMetroBus.com/Mobile-App.

Eligibility verification requires proof such as a valid student ID, government-issued ID card, passport, or birth certificate. This can be done in person at the administration office or remotely by emailing mymetrobus@cityofmadison.com with appropriate documentation attached.

For more details about enrollment or eligibility requirements, Metro’s Customer Service is available at (608) 266-4466 or by email.
