Several streets near the Capitol Square in Madison will be closed during Labor Day weekend for the annual Taste of Madison event. The closures are set to begin on Thursday, August 28 and continue through Sunday, August 31.
The 100 and 200 blocks of Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard, as well as the 100 block of Wisconsin Avenue, will be closed from Thursday through Sunday. Starting at 5 p.m. on Friday, August 29, additional closures around the Capitol Square and nearby streets will go into effect and remain until the end of the event.
Streets affected by these extended closures include the 10 and 100 blocks of East and West Mifflin Streets; North and South Pinckney Street; East and West Main Street; North and South Carroll Street; as well as the 100 blocks of King Street, E. Washington Avenue, N. Hamilton Street, S. Hamilton Street, State Street, and W. Washington Avenue.
Travelers are advised to plan for extra travel time when moving through this area over the weekend.
