The Warner Park Community Recreation Center and the Madison Arts Commission are hosting a Public Art Preview on October 1, 2025. The event will run from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and will display draft designs for a new public art installation planned for the expanded recreation facility.

This project is a collaboration involving local middle school and high school students from the Madison Metropolitan School District, professional artist and University of Wisconsin-Madison professor Faisal Abdu’Allah, and the City of Madison. According to organizers, this process aims to provide opportunities for arts education and community engagement while developing meaningful public spaces.

Faisal Abdu’Allah led an eight-week after-school workshop during the spring semester of 2025 with twenty students from MMSD. The designs being presented at the preview event are the result of this partnership between students and Abdu’Allah, with their joint vision reflected in concepts for permanent public art.
