Several streets in Madison will be closed on Sunday, August 10 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. due to the annual Ride the Drive event organized by the Madison Parks Division. According to city officials, all vehicles must be removed from affected streets by 8:00 a.m.

The closures include John Nolen Drive from Olin Avenue to the S Blair/Williamson Street intersection, with controlled access provided for those needing to reach the Machinery Row parking lot. Williamson Street will also be closed from S Blair Street to S Ingersoll Street, but cross-traffic will be allowed at Patterson Street.

A signed detour will direct traffic around US 151 using Gorham Street, Johnson Street, and Park Street during the event hours. Limited and controlled traffic crossings are permitted at specific points detailed on the Ride the Drive map available on the event’s website.

City officials note that some Madison Metro bus routes will experience changes or detours because of these street closures. Additional details about bus route impacts can be found on Metro’s official website (https://www.cityofmadison.com/metro/detours).
