The Sun Prairie Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony on April 20 to celebrate the grand reopening of the Read Before Book Store in its new location inside the Sun Prairie Public Library.
The event marked a significant moment for the volunteer-run bookstore, which has moved into a renovated and larger space within the library. The new setting is intended to offer an expanded and welcoming area for community members interested in supporting literacy initiatives.
Chamber Ambassadors, Board Members, staff, city officials, friends, family, and volunteers attended the ceremony. They commemorated what organizers described as an important milestone and showed their support for both the bookstore and local literacy efforts.
The Read Before Book Store is operated by Friends of the Sun Prairie Library. It helps fund library programs and services through sales of gently used books. Organizers say that moving into a more visible location will make it easier for visitors of all ages to access its offerings.
During the event, attendees had opportunities to network with one another, tour both the new bookstore space and other renovated areas of the library, and recognize volunteers who contribute their time to keep operations running smoothly.
In a statement from organizers at the end of the event, they said that celebrating this grand reopening reflects ongoing support from both volunteers and community members.
