The City of Sun Prairie announced on March 25 that it will host a final public town hall focused on the upcoming referendum, with particular attention to the needs of local public safety departments. The session is scheduled for Monday, March 30 from 6-8 p.m. at Fire Station II located at 2598 W Main St.

The city has already held six public town halls about the referendum, providing presentations by city officials and question-and-answer sessions led by elected officials. The aim of these meetings is to inform residents about the details and funding challenges related to the referendum before they vote on April 7.

“The goal of these town halls has been to share more details and communicate the City’s funding challenges with our community so residents feel well-informed before entering the voting booth on April 7,” according to a statement from city officials.

Residents who have not attended previous sessions are encouraged to participate in this final meeting and bring any questions they may have. For those unable to attend in person, recordings of past town halls are available online at www.cityofsunprairie.com/referendum.

Sun Prairie is described as a vibrant community in northeastern Dane County that has grown significantly since its incorporation as a city in 1958, increasing from fewer than 4,000 residents then to an estimated population of nearly 39,419 today.
