The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) announced on March 31 that residents are encouraged to consider purchasing the Wisconsin Conservation Patron License, which offers a range of benefits for those who enjoy outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing.
The Conservation Patron License provides access to multiple recreational opportunities while supporting fish and wildlife programs across the state. The license costs $165 annually and includes permits for various types of hunting and fishing, as well as additional perks like an annual park sticker, trail pass, admission to Heritage Hill State Park, and a subscription to the Wisconsin Natural Resources Magazine. According to the DNR, this license can save residents over $130 compared to buying each item separately.
The DNR said that revenue from these licenses supports habitat management and research efforts throughout Wisconsin. The department manages state parks, trails, forests, and wildlife areas according to the official website. It also focuses on conserving natural resources for current and future generations according to the official website.
In addition to conservation work, the DNR extends its management efforts statewide according to the official website and seeks public input through advisory councils and comment periods on proposed rules according to the official website. As a state agency responsible for enforcing environmental laws and regulations according to the official website, it also provides services such as hunting and fishing licenses along with environmental permits according to the official website.
Licenses can be purchased online through Go Wild license portal or at any authorized sales agent or DNR Service Center. More information is available on the DNR’s Conservation Patron webpage.
