Identical twin brothers from Madison, Marquez and Nathan Green recently competed in the national American Ninja Warrior competition.
In the first trial, Marquez made it to the second obstacle while Nathan finished the entire course and qualified to compete again in August, according to the University of Wisconsin.
"Had a blast! Thank you for having us!! Looking to make Madison proud," Marquez wrote in a July 12 Twitter post.
Competing on the show is among many things the brothers have done together. They room together at UW and they're both seniors majoring in community and nonprofit leadership with a certificate in entrepreneurship. The brothers adopted the nickname of “Wisco Twinjas” during the sports competition.
Natives of Madison, the Green brothers attended Madison West High School for two years before moving to Wauwatosa to live with their grandmother following the loss of their mother to breast cancer.
American Ninja Warrior is a national American sports entertainment competition currently televised on NBC. The show features hundreds of athletes taking on obstacle courses of increasing difficulty with the goal of completing the national finals and becoming an "American Ninja Warrior." The competition was launched in 2009, and to date, only two competitors have ever achieved total victory over the final course, according to American Ninja Warrior Nation.
