The University of Wisconsin wants to improve its offensive playbook, so they’re looking to the pros to help them achieve that.
Bobby Engram is reported to be the top candidate to become the new offensive coordinator for the Badgers football team, according to various reports.
“#Wisconsin is targeting Baltimore Ravens tight ends coach Bobby Engram to be its next offensive coordinator, sources tell me and @jamisonhensley," Tom VanHaaren, ESPN reporter, said in a tweet on Jan. 21. “An agreement could be finalized soon. Engram worked on Wisconsin coach Paul Chryst's staff at Pitt in 2012 and 2013.”
Engram has coached nine seasons in the NFL, eight with Baltimore and one with the San Francisco 49ers. He has focused on training up tight ends with the Ravens.
One factor that might tilt the scales in favor of him coming to the Badgers is that his son Dean is a cornerback for the team.
Since he has worked with Chryst before, that makes Engram a known quantity on staff, too.
