Madison Boats is set to begin offering bass fishing boat rentals at Brittingham Boats this summer.

The brand-new Bass Tracker fishing boats seat up to three people and include a motor, a recent report from WMTV said.

Tyler Leeper, president of Madison Boats, describes the Bass Tracker boats as easy to use for veteran anglers and those new to the sport.

“We’re excited to offer them because of their simplicity and yet they have all the features you need,” he told WMTV.

Fish known to regularly swim in Lake Monona include panfish, bass, pike, walleye and muskies. Leeper noted that renters will be given safety training before they head out on the water.

“This is the start of our tenth season so we have a really good understanding of where the hazards are,” Leeper said. “It’s easy to educate our customers on where to go and where not to go and what to be cautious with.”

Boat rentals are by the hour with a two-hour minimum. Madison Boats also offers the option of booking a fishing boat for the entire day, as well as fishing equipment.

The company advises anglers not to consume what they catch due to perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substance (PFAS) contamination in the city lakes.
