City of Appleton issued the following announcement on June 21.
Dane County, in partnership with the City of Madison, Town of Westport, City of Monona, Lake Waubesa Conservation Association, Village of McFarland, and Friends of Lake Kegonsa Society, will have a shoreline barge crew working to pick up aquatic trash and debris from residents' piers through August at the following locations:
Madison and Westport only: Lake Mendota, Barge Crew Map (PDF)
Entire lake: Lake Monona, Lake Waubesa, and Lake Kegonsa
Lake Monona Pick Up June 6th through June 10th
The pick-up will collect only aquatic vegetation and other debris that have washed up on shore. They will not pick up yard waste, brush or household waste. Vegetation must be placed on the pier by Monday at 7:00 a.m. on the designated pick up day. See schedule below for specific locations.
